For years we have known that quality in home building really consists of two separate things: the qualities of the product we build for you and the quality of the processes you go through before and after you purchase a Savannah home. Savannah Service refers to our customer service program that focuses on those processes and includes 5 major points, before and after closing.
Before Closing
1. Plan’s Review takes place approximately 2 weeks after signing the Purchase Agreement and/or upon receipt of the loan commitment. This meeting includes the Buyers, their Realtor, if applicable, our Construction Superintendent, Ken Meline, and our Service Representative, Linda Aldrich. The buyers will work with the Service Representative to make color selections of siding, front doors and roof shingles and are provided a list of vendors and locations to make interior selections. The Construction Superintendent reviews and notes plan changes as requested by the buyers. The Plan’s Review applies only to custom built homes.
2. Predrywall Tour with our Construction Superintendent will occur before your home is drywalled. This process provides the buyers an additional opportunity to verify that all exterior and/or interior changes have been made and to pinpoint closing date arrangements as needed.
3. Homeowner Orientation is a meeting that provides you with a thorough demonstration of your new home. It takes place approximately two days prior to closing. This process allows buyers to ask questions with our Construction Superintendent and Service Representative while providing and opportunity to list any workmanship or material defects. Items needing attention will be noted on the Warranty Tour list and signed by the parties. Please arrange for friends and young children to see the home at a time before or after the orientation so you can focus all your attention to your new home.
Buyers will also receive Trade Contractor-Supplier Warranties and booklets, additional information concerning Savannah’s Warranty program and a Sherwin William’s Touch-up Kit
After Closing
4. One Month letter. Savannah Homes contacts our owners in writing approximately 30 days after closing to assure that all service items noted during the Homeowner Orientation have been corrected. Savannah’s limited warranties exclude repairs for damage caused by moving in or living in your home.
5. Eleven Month letters. Savannah Homes again contacts you in writing approximately eleven months after possession alerting you to the pending close of the One Year Warranty period and offers an additional opportunity to report any service issues. |
